FICCI Ladies Organisation (FICCI FLO) organises Windows for Weavers a week long online exhibition to showcase best products from across the country

FICCI Ladies Organisation (FICCI FLO) Mumbai Chapter, is organising a 5 day virtual exhibition ‘Windows for Weavers’ from 25th to 30th September 2020. At the exhibition, one can view and buy specially curated Indian weaves from across the country and help the weaving community that are negatively impacted due to the pandemic. Windows for Weavers was inaugurated by Shri. Aslam Sheikh, Maharashtra State Textile Minister and Smt. Hema Malini, actor and Member of Parliament. The inauguration was followed by a panel discussion on how to promote weavers? The panellist were, Ms Neeta Lulla, ace fashion designer, Ms. Sonali Kulkarni actor and Ms Maloo Natrajan Chairperson FICCI FLO among others.

Speaking on the same Maloo Natrajan, Chairperson FICCI FLO Mumbai, said Saree diplomacy and Khadi cult are used to promote the finesse of Indian weavers on the global map. The need of the hour is to communicate, disseminate and engage with not just the global audience but the local population and the Indian diaspora through these cultural expression. The government’s ‘Make In India’, ‘Vocal for Local’ & Atmanirbharta’ program present a huge opportunity to the handloom sector to further strengthen India’s position in the global market.”
